Boat rides to the Sagar Durga Temple run from October 11th to 20th. People have a rare chance to take a nice boat ride across the water to pray to the goddess. On the boat, you can see the beautiful, busy Visakhapatnam Port, big cargo ships entering from the sea into the harbor canal, and docked Navy ships on the water.
Dates: October 11th to 20th | Time: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day | Boat Tickets: ₹40 for adults and ₹20 for children under 12 (round trip) | Where to Board: Near the Port Venkateswara Swamy Temple on the Port Promenade. (Go to the Old Post Office Last Bus Stop to reach it).
The real name of the temple is Sri Sagara Giri Kanaka Durga Temple. It is hidden for most of the year. Because the temple is inside a strict Navy area, roads to the temple are closed to the public. Instead, visitors can only reach it by using a special boat during the festival. The temple is inside the Navy base. It only opens to the public for a short time during the Dasara (Navaratri) festival.
