On July 3, 2025, Dolby Laboratories inaugurated India’s first Dolby Cinema at City Pride Multiplex, Kharadi, Pune. This launch marked India’s entry into a global network of Dolby Cinemas already present in more than 20 countries.
Following the Pune debut, Dolby announced partnerships with five more cinema chains to expand its footprint. While Pune is operational, the other five locations are expected to roll out gradually this year:

AMB Cinemas officially opened on 16 January 2026 at the historic Kapali Theatre site in Gandhi Nagar, Bengaluru, introducing South India's first Dolby Cinema. The launch was announced by Superstar Mahesh Babu, who co-owns the multiplex with Asian Cinemas.

Allu Cinemas officially opened on 22 March 2026 at Kokapet, Hyderabad, unveiling India's largest Dolby Cinema screen, which is also the largest in Asia and the second-largest Dolby Cinema screen in the world.
Developed by Allu Studios, the flagship Dolby Cinema auditorium features Dolby Vision dual Christie E3LH RGB pure laser projection and Dolby Atmos with a 72-speaker immersive audio system.
