The Telugu film Swayambhu is one of the most awaited releases of 2026. Directed by Bharat Krishnamachari, it stars Nikhil Siddhartha in the lead role as a warrior-emperor. The story is set in a historical-fantasy backdrop and follows the rise of an emperor who brought a golden age.
Swayambhu is Nikhil’s most ambitious project, produced on a massive budget and designed for big-screen spectacle. With mythology-inspired imagery, large-scale visuals, and strong emotional themes, it is positioned as a major Telugu-Hindi bilingual release. On Nikhil’s birthday (June 2, 2026), the makers released a behind-the-scenes video showing his 45-day intense warrior training with international stunt teams. He trained in combat techniques and large-scale action sequences to portray the warrior Krishnan Raman.
The film features Samyuktha Menon and Nabha Natesh alongside Nikhil, with Sunil and Subbaraju in supporting roles. Cinematography is handled by KK Senthil Kumar, known for Baahubali and RRR, while music is composed by Ravi Basrur of KGF fame. Editing is managed by Tammiraju.
The movie is planned as a two-part release, with the first part expected in 2026 and the second part to follow later. It will be released in multiple languages across India, making it a pan-India project. At present, there are some delays in production, and the crew is taking additional time to ensure the best possible output. Further announcements on the release schedule are awaited.
