List of All 13 Blue Flag Beaches in India (2025 Present)
Blue Flag certification is an international eco-label awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), Denmark. It is a prestigious recognition given to beaches that meet high standards of cleanliness, safety, environmental protection, and accessibility.
To qualify, a beach must meet 33 strict criteria under these four main categories:
- Environmental education and information
- Water quality
- Environmental management
- Safety and services
At present, India has 13 Blue Flag-certified beaches across 11 coastal states and union territories, stretching from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal, and even to the islands in the Indian Ocean.
List of Blue Flag Beaches in India
- Shivrajpur Beach – Located in Shivrajpur Village near Dwaraka in the state of Gujarat. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Ghoghla Beach – Located in Ghoghla Village near Diu Town. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Kasarkod Beach – Located in Kasarkod Village in Uttara Kannada District in the state of Karnataka. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Padubidri Beach – Located in Padubidri in Udupi District in the state of Karnataka. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Kappad Beach – Located in Kappad near Kozhikode in the state of Kerala. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Rushikonda Beach – Located in Rushikonda near Visakhapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Golden Beach – Located in Puri in the state of Odisha. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Radhanagar Beach – Located on Havelock Island in the Andaman Islands. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Eden Beach – Located in Chinna Veerampattinam near Puducherry City in the Union Territory of Puducherry. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Kovalam Beach – Located in Kovalam near Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2020.
- Minicoy Thundi Beach – Located on Minicoy Island in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2022.
- Kadmat Beach – Located on Kadmat Island in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2022.
- Tarkarli Beach – Located in Tarkarli in Sindhudurg District in the state of Maharashtra. Beach got the Blue Flag Certification in 2023.
