FASTag Annual Pass Launches August 15: ₹3,000 for 1 Year or 200 Highway Trips
To make toll payments easier and more affordable for frequent highway travelers, the Indian government has introduced a FASTag Annual Pass. This pass covers all National Highways and Expressways under NHAI. It is priced at ₹3,000 and is valid for 1 year from activation or until you complete 200 trips—whichever comes first. Once you complete 200 trips, you’ll need to buy a new FASTag Annual Pass to continue using the service.
This new plan, announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, will be effective from August 15, 2025.
FASTag Annual Pass Key Highlights:
- Cost: ₹3,000 per year.
- Valid for: 1 year from the date it’s activated, or up to 200 trips—whichever happens first. You can buy a new pass once you use up the 200 trips.
- Who can use it: Only private (non-commercial) vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans. It can’t be transferred to another vehicle.
- Where it works: All National Highways and Expressways managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
- How to get it: Use the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app or visit the official websites of NHAI or MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways).
- Important: You must enter your Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) to activate the pass. It only works for the registered vehicle with FASTag attached.
How does the New FASTag Annual Pass Works?
- Each time your vehicle crosses a toll plaza, it counts as one trip.
- In closed toll systems (like the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway), a full journey (entry to exit) counts as one trip.
- In open systems (like Delhi–Chandigarh), each toll booth passed counts as a separate trip.
- Once you hit 200 trips or complete one year, you can recharge the pass again.
