Visakhapatnam Traffic Rules 2026: New Speed Limits Across Major Roads in Vizag Effective April 2026
The Vizag City Police have imposed new speed limits across major roads in Visakhapatnam. This decision has been taken to improve road safety, reduce accidents, ensure smoother traffic movement, and protect pedestrians and local commuters.
The rules apply to all categories of vehicles on highways, municipal roads, and the Beach Road stretch. Citizens and drivers are advised to follow the limits strictly to avoid penalties.
Please be aware that violations can lead to fines of up to ₹1,500 and even license suspension.
New Speed Limits in Vizag (Effective April 2026)
- NH-16 Corridor (Kurmannapalem Junction to Kommadi Junction): 40 kmph
- Beach Road (Fishing Harbour to Bheemili via Sagarnagar and Rushikonda): 40 kmph
- Municipal Roads: 40 kmph
- BRTS Corridors (Adavivaram to Vepagunta, Baji Junction to Kancharapalem Mettu): 40 kmph
- Rajapulova to Pinagadi (via Pendurthi NH-16 bypass): 70 kmph
Traffic Enforcement Measures in Vizag for Speed Limit Violations
- Laser Guns: Three high-speed laser guns deployed to detect violations.
- CCTV Surveillance: Upgraded network to monitor traffic continuously.
